PLOT SUMMARY:

Despite everything, the two decide to spend one final night together at a local motel (Heartache Hotel). They are both seen entering the room, but they are never seen leaving.

The next morning, a hotel desk attendant goes to check the room. The bathroom window and the front door are left wide open, and The Other Boy’s jacket sits on the desk chair. The attendant is horrified by what he finds inside. Terrified, he screams and calls for help. The town quickly learns what has happened and crowds the hotel alongside the police, watching in shock.

What actually occurred in the room remains unknown. All that is known is that both boys are gone, and the room, down to the carpet, the walls, and even the lampshade, is soaked in blood. All that is left is the jacket, untouched.

We pan to a stark, plain white sheet covering a "mass" on the floor of the room. We never learn what is beneath it. It could be The Boy. It could be The Other Boy. It could be both. It could even be The Girl, a midnight lover, or someone completely unrelated.

We never hear from the boys again. They are gone. How? No one ever found out.
